Need help? Video tutorials are here. Prefer human help? Sharron from ATX Theatre can answer basic questions via info@atxtheatre.org. Or, you are welcome to make an appointment with tech guru Micah Flowers of Evvnt here.

That's FREE access to a real-live, super-capable, and genuinely nice support person! (Does your current ticketing system give you that?)

REASONS TO USE ATX THEATRE TICKETS:

• Your show gets a swanky-looking landing page

• Clean, simple check-out process for your audiences

• FREE, human tech support

• Robust functionality options (group discounts, discount codes, ticket levels, season tickets, insightful analytics, comp tickets, free tickets that are really free, tiered pricing, customizable emails to audiences, seat mapping/reserved seating or general admission, add-on sales options, ability to accept donations at check-out...) — all for ZERO DOLLARS out of your budget

• BONUS PERK: Automatic inclusion in the ATXtheatre.org events calendar

• BONUS PERK: Automatic inclusion in The Austin American-Statesman's Things To Do online events calendar

• BONUS PERK: Pre-run/advance marketing in the weekly ATX Theatre Guide email in the Coming Soon segment (example here), which hits the inbox of more than 5,000 likely ticket buyers each week -- whereas shows that use other ticketing systems have to wait until the week their show plays to be included in the guide (p.s. the sooner you ticket, the longer you get the pre-sale benefit)

• BONUS PERK: Featured status on ATXtheatre.org during your show’s run  (shows using other ticketing systems pay to be Featured)

PRICING

• ATX Theatre negotiated a slimmed-down per-ticket fee with our Evvnt partners on behalf of our affiliates (50¢ cheaper than their usual per-ticket fee)

• ATX Theatre Tickets fees ($1 + 4% + cc) are lower than Eventbrite ($1.79 + 3.7% + cc) and Austin Chronicle Tickets ($1.79 + 3.7% + cc). Plus, only ATX Theatre gives you pre-sales Theatre Guide placement for die-hard Austin theatre fans!

• TicketWeb and ThunderTix pricing are similar to ours, but only for unreserved seating. They charge an extra fee for seat maps/reserved seating, whereas ATX Theatre Tickets does not. And our system provides human support to help you build the seat map if you want one, and do anything else you might need.

• Though HumanTix (sample), SimpleTix (sample), TicketLeap (sample), Ludus (sample), and Ticket Tailor (sample) are slightly cheaper than ATX Theatre Tickets, you might notice that their interfaces lack the elegant, finished design of an ATX Theatre Tickets box office page (example).

• If you use any other ticketing platform, you're faced with the task of manually listing your shows in the Statesman and ATXtheatre.org. But those two listings happen automatically if you use ATX Theatre Tickets! What is your time worth?

• A tiny sliver of the modest ticketing fee your audiences pay is reinvested back into ATX Theatre for public awareness work for all shows. While you promote your show in this layered, holistic, community-centric way, you're reinforcing your company’s place in this collaborative, hyper-local affiliation. It’s a way for you to do your part to help the “rising tide lift all boats.”

We are able to offer these stellar benefits thanks to our unique strategic partnership with Evvnt. This international company appreciates the community-level work we do, so they gift our affiliate theatre companies their sturdy and appealing ticketing platform. Our unique industry connectedness and nonprofit spirit provide Evvnt with a different perspective than they get from their for-profit ticketing clients. The CEO listens to us because we use his system differently than his other publishers, and he reaches out to help us.

If changing from your old ticketing system feels hard, we get it. We’d be glad to build your first show on ATX Theatre Tickets for you or with you. If you need to talk it out or have lots of questions, no problem. Call or email Sharron anytime to discuss.

Austin theatre community: Let’s USE this gift we have been granted to maximize your ticket sales!

Your're encouraged to read the TICKETING section on this page first. If you still want to keep that other ol’ ticketing platform you’ve been using... here’s how to add your show to the ATXtheatre.org show listing FOR FREE while using your old ticketing system:

1. Log in at https://app.evvnt.com/users/sign_in

The very first time you do this:

a. If you don't have a free Evvnt account yet, make one before proceeding (click the "sign up" tab) Once you have made your account, proceed to step 2!

OR

b. If you already have an Evvnt account through Austin American-Statesman, we can have that account switched over to ATX Theatre for you. This will ensure that your listing appears on both ATXtheatre.org AND Austin American-Statesman online listings. (Thanks, Evvnt!) Just email info@atxtheatre.org and we will help you transfer. Once it's done, proceed to step 2.

2. IMPORTANT: Once you get going in the form and see EVENT TYPE, always enter "Theatre" to ensure inclusion in our calendar. (The category will pop up as "Arts/Performance/Theatre" when you type "Theatre.")

3. IMPORTANT: Under the WHEN section, assuming your show happens more than once, always click the MULTI-DAY EVENT button and enter the opening date/closing date/times. Pleeeeease do NOT create a separate event for each show if you are not ticketing with us! This creates more work for both of us.

4. At the end of the process, you will come to a page that offers you a premium upgrade for $129. You are under NO OBLIGATION to buy that upgrade. To avoid spending any money, select the FREE option, and complete your submission. However, you are welcome to upgrade if you want to. The upgrade syndicates your listing to more online platforms.

If you have questions or problems as you add your show to our homepage listing — or if you'd like to learn more about the ticketing platform — email info@atxtheatre.org.

FOR PRODUCERS OUTSIDE OF AUSTIN: ATX Theatre was founded to support the 80 companies within Austin city limits. However, with affordability being a thing of the past and many of our artists moving to the outskirts, we want to include them, too! This is why we developed our "Outskirts Affiliates" designation for companies outside of Austin that pay actors at least $300 per show. This helps keep our workload manageable, and keeps our org centered over its purpose (uniting local theatre artists, consolidating info for audiences) while also encouraging professionalization/pay — and it keeps our theatremaking friends who used to live in Austin in the fold. We wish we could include every community theatre, college, and high school show in Central Texas!  But, as you can imagine, that could be a never-ending stream of unmonetized work. And we are still a shoestring nonprofit. BUT IF YOU ARE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF AUSTIN AND YOU TICKET THROUGH ATX THEATRE TICKETS, YOUR SHOW WILL BE INCLUDED ON OUR LISTING AND OUR THEATRE GUIDE AS LONG AS IT IS A PLAY OR MUSICAL. That's the loophole. Take it, okay?

This calendar listing service is strictly for theatrical productions (i.e., a play or musical based on a script — with actors who speak preconceived lines) — we respectfully request that it not to be utilized to promote live stand-up, dance, or music events. Thank you!

WHAT ATX THEATRE DOES:
ATX Theatre invites Austinites not just to enjoy the plethora of theatrical adventures in our city, but to form a relationship with local theatremakers over time. Behind the scenes, we build sustainability for those theatremakers (approximately 80 companies and 3000 artists) through force-multiplying initiatives that center collaboration, professional development, efficiency, and affordability. Caring for both theatregoers and theatremakers, ATX Theatre increases access to Austin’s quantity of live productions while nurturing a creative ecosystem where artists can focus on quality.
